Adventure Tours
Anne-Marie and
her dedicated team donate their time to take 12 guests on
Mangrove tours every month. The families are collected from
their homes, enjoy a guided tour along the Kilim River with
a superb meal before being returned home.
Dev's have further supported us by donating copies of
their superb 2012 calendar and matching the donations we
received. The proceeds from sales have been placed in our
Education Fund to help with schooling costs for 2012.

Dial a Flight, United Kingdom
The charity arm of Dial A Flight – Make My Day Better
– made a donation which we have used to Adopt a Family
helping with their day to day living expenses.
Vijaya, widowed in October 2011, moved back to Langkawi with
her three delightful children to live with her mother and
grandmother – four generations under one roof.
The funds provided will help with food and other
costs whilst she uses her skills as a seamstress to set up a
business and becomes financially independent.

Paul Penders
Paul has been a regular supporter, but most recently
his company made a generous donation which we have used in
our Adopt A Family Programme. The funds will be used to
supply food parcels every two weeks and to help with day to
day living expenses for Abu Sameh and his three teenage
children. He was recently widowed and left to raise the
children on his own on a minimal income. His year old baby
has since been adopted within the extended family allowing
him to scour the jungle for herbs etc to sell to supplement
his small welfare payment.

Rebak Island
Resort Langkawi– A Taj Hotel
For Christmas 2011 Rebak Island Resort launched a
Christmas CSR initiative inviting guests to purchase boxes
of cookies with the proceeds being used to supply school
shoes to underprivileged children.
The shoes were presented at a special High Tea Party
at Rebak attended by 7 of 'our' children and 18 from the
orphanage Rumah Nur Kasir.
The resort laid on a special ferry to transport the
partygoers to the island – an amazing experience for the
children, who on arrival were taken by buggy to enjoy .a
wonderful buffet. Staff were on hand to help the children
with batik painting. There are some budding artists amongst
them!
We are grateful to Rebak Island Resort for their generous
donation which we have placed in our Education Fund to help
with schooling costs for 2012.
